“Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace.”
(Ephesians 4:3 Amp)
“…that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.”
(Philippians 1:27b)

“That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.”

(John 17:21 Amp)
One is the most powerful number in the universe. There is NEVER any division in one, but completeness, wholeness, and great strength.
Jesus’ prayer for His church was that all its members would be one (unified) as He and the Father are one. Wow, what an awesome prayer! He said the world would believe and be convinced that He was truly sent by the Father when all the members of the body are one. What a responsibility! What a staggering directive by our Lord, that the people of this world believing and being convinced that Jesus is Lord can only manifest in totality when the church is one. Can you see His plan? Are you grasping the magnitude of the Savior’s prayer?
You are probably asking or thinking how can this ever be? The church is so far from oneness (unity) that the religions of this world laugh and mock us. And why shouldn’t they? The church, I am sorry to say, is a total mess, a joke! We are so divided that division has become our name, First Church Divided!
But the answer to oneness is found in this prayer of Jesus. Please notice carefully…it was a unity in which men loved each other because they loved Him. It was oneness based entirely upon fellowship between heart to heart. The only motivating force that can bring this about is the love of God that is shed abroad in the hearts of all born-again believers by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 5:5)
“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
(Ephesians 4:13-16)
“…and on this rock [Greek, petra—a huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].”
(Matthew 16:18b AMP)
“Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain…”
(Psalm 127:1a)
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.”
(John 4:23)
“And by unlimited seduction to evil and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing (going to perdition) because they did not welcome the Truth but refused to love it that they might be saved.”
(II Thessalonians 2:10 AMP)
“It is written in [the book of] the Prophets, And they shall all be taught of God [have Him in person for their Teacher]. Everyone who has listened to and learned from the Father comes to Me—“
(John 6:45 AMP)
Oneness in the love of God’s Truth in the church can solve all differences, when the members begin to truly fellowship with Him, and He pours into us His rich abounding love. Unity of the body of Christ, throughout all history, has been injured, violated, and hindered, because men loved their own creeds, loved their own rituals, loved their own ecclesiastical organizations, MORE THAN THEY LOVED GOD, HIS TRUTH, AND EACH OTHER!
Listen for a moment; as we (the church) become ONE through intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit, which is now possible through the blood of Jesus, we begin to change. We begin to die to self, and He begins to live within us, so that the impossible is now possible. All the walls of division begin to vanish in His living pools of agapeo love. You say, “Impossible!” Well, then you are still in self. The day is coming when the called out church will walk in what Jesus prayed. I pray you have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying. AMEN!
